Viracocha Inca. (v. 1400-1438) Viracocha est le huitième empereur inca. Il régna environ de 1400 à 1438.
Viracocha Inca. (v. 1400-1438) Nommé dans son enfance Hatun Tupac, il est le fils de Yahuar Huacac et de Mama Chicya Qoya. Il assoit la domination inca dans un rayon de 40 kilomètres autour de Cuzco. Son règne voit l'affrontement final avec la puissante tribu des Chancas. Mais les chroniqueurs sont divisés sur son rôle, certains comme Inca Garcilaso de la Vega, raconte que son père Yahuar Huacac, devant l'avancée des armées adverses, trouve refuge dans la citadelle de Calca. L'un de ses fils, Viracocha Inca, nommé ainsi à cause d'une vision qu'il aurait eu du dieu inca Viracocha, mobilise les tribus alliées et met les Chancas en déroute. Il dépose son père et renforce le pouvoir des Incas sur les hauts plateaux. D'autres, comme Pedro Cieza de León ou Juan de Betanzos, pensent que c'est Viracocha qui s'est enfui et que c'est son fils Pachacuti Yupanqui qui bat les Chancas. http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Viracocha_Inca --- Aussi Túpac Amaru. Il est le fils de Manco Inca. Son nom signifie " serpent brillant " en quechua.
